Not all requiems are the same: Mozart’s was composed at the end of his life at the pinnacle of his classical composing style. Fauré’s anticipates the impressionism of Debussy and Ravel. His work is more uplifting, having rid itself of the “Dies Irae” and other severe parts of the death masses. Both are moving and beautiful and beloved all over the world.
All performances will include professional lead singers, the Taconic Opera Orchestra and Chorus, and will be conducted by Music Director Dan Montez.
