Fairfield, CT — Tabla Maestro Anindo Chatterjee is a living Legend and Global Icon. Renowned worldwide as a luminary of Tabla, Anindo Chatterjee, is a true musician’s musician. Born into a musical legacy, he embarked on his performing career at the tender age of 10, captivating audiences globally ever since. Anindo is the esteemed director of the Farrukhabad Style of Tabla, showcasing unparalleled mastery and artistry. His musical odyssey spans over six decades and reaches across 60 countries, leaving an indelible mark on the world of Indian music and art.

Notable performances include prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House, and the Bolshoi Ballet Theatre in Moscow. Anindo Chatterjee’s accolades are as numerous as his performances. From receiving India’s prestigious President’s Award in 1970 to being the first tabla player to grace India’s House of Commons in 1990, his contributions to music are unparalleled. In 2002, he was honored with the “Sangeet Natak Akademi Award,” the highest recognition for practicing artists in India, presented by the President of India. His performances for dignitaries and heads of state, including a special performance at Rashtrapati Bhavan during President Barack Obama’s visit to India in 2010, further solidified his legacy.

Adding to his illustrious journey, Anindo Chatterjee was awarded the Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Lifetime Achievement Award by the Government of Telangana in 2018, a testament to his enduring impact on the world of music. In an unprecedented musical fusion, Mark Manczuk, known as Professor Pocket, is set to join forces with the legendary Anindo Chatterjee for the tabla solo concert. Mark, with over 30 years of professional experience, earned his nickname for delivering a smooth and steady feel across diverse musical genres. Mark is a performing drummer, percussionist, and educator. He has worked with Swiss Chris (of John Legend, Wyclef Jean), Doug Wimbish (of Living Colour, Mick Jagger), David Ellefson (of Megadeth), Skip McDonald (of Tackhead, Sugar Hill Gang House Band, Sinead O’Connor), and many others! He also holds a masters degree in teaching.

Mark’s dedication to studying the Tabla including in India under the guidance of Guruji Pandit Anindo Chatterjee adds a unique dimension to this collaboration.
