Critically acclaimed international pianist Taka Kigawa returns to the Hammond to celebrate our opening in grand style.  His program will present Sonata No. 8 in c minor, Op. 13 (“Pathétique”) by Ludwig van Beethoven and selections of György Ligeti’s Etudes for Piano.  As a special connection of sight and sound, Kigawa will play Frédéric Chopin’s 24 Preludes, Opus 28 to parallel a special display of artist Mikel Frank’s abstract collages inspired by these musical compositions.
