Get ready for a weekend of fun and celebration at the O+ Festival, returning to Kingston, New York, from October 6-8, 2023. This year’s festival features a diverse lineup of over 50 live bands, dozens of visual and performance art activations, spoken word, live comedy, and a variety of health and wellness workshops and vendors open to the community.
Headlining the 2023 festival is Grammy-nominated songwriter Amythyst Kiah, who offers a soulful fusion of blues, indie rock, and American roots music. Kiah takes the stage at The Old Dutch Church in Uptown Kingston on October 7th.
Other headliners include comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, Gail Ann Dorsey, poet, author, and curator Mahogany L. Browne, plus Carsie Blanton, Amber Rubarth, Holly Miranda, Constant Smiles, Delicate Steve, and Pamela Laws & The Hudson Valley Allstars featuring Cindy Cashdollar.
In addition to the music and comedy, the O+ Festival also features a variety of art installations and performances, including:
- A new mural by public artist, activist, photographer, and physician Chip Thomas reimagining his 2015 mural “Ain’t I A Woman” in a new location.Dance performances from choreographers Funsch Dance
- A special engagement with writer, musician, and O+ veteran Richard Buckner reading excerpts from a recent serial published through Black Sparrow Press
- The festival’s ExplO+re Wellness programming includes sound healing, yoga, dance, qigong, healing through art and music, presentations by health experts, and activities for kids.
- At the heart of every O+ Festival is the Artists’ Clinic, where all participants and volunteers are able to access a variety of healthcare services in exchange for their contributions to the festival. Services include dental care, acupuncture, chiropractic, reiki, dermatology, nutrition counseling, and physical exams.
