GCTYO’s Principal Orchestra will perform original symphonic music with the Grammy award winning band The Villalobos Brothers. One piece is a world premiere with featured guest artist INTEMPO Youth Choir. The Villalobos Brothers will also perform their own set. The world renowned Villalobos Brothers are acclaimed as one of today’s leading contemporary Mexican ensembles. Their original compositions and arrangements fuse and celebrate the richness of Mexican folk with jazz and classical music. Also on the set list by GCTYO: A John Williams medley, Mozart’s “The Abduction from the Serraglio,” Bacchanale from “Samson and Delilah” by Saint-Saëns, and “Tico-Tico no fubá” by Brazilian composer Zequinha de Abreu.
