Join us for a night of Latin Jazz as our creative musical community comes together to honor “El Maestro” – NEA Jazz Master and ten-time Grammy Award winner Eddie Palmieri.

Renowned Latin Jazz artists including trumpeter Ray Vega and members of Palmieri’s band will take the stage to celebrate “El Maestro” and pass the torch to the talented emerging artists of the Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra – an ensemble made up of top students from the Purchase College Conservatory of Music.

Palmieri himself will be in attendance, participating as a judge for the Purchase College Latin Jazz Festival during the day, and saying a few words during the evening concert.

A dazzling pianist whose technique incorporates bits and pieces from everyone from McCoy Tyner to Herbie Hancock and recycles them through a dynamic Latin groove, Eddie Palmieri has been a Latin jazz and salsa institution for the past 60 years.

Presented in collaboration with the Purchase College Conservatory of Music, as part of the Purchase College Latin Jazz Festival.
