My ideal listener is someone who wants to be touched by music. If you like backround music, I'm not your guy. My listener is someone that will listen to the lyrics as much as the music. I want to make you feel something. If that means you'll get good cry in, so be it. Maybe you've had your heart broken, if so, I'm your man I guess.

Watching and listening to her perform on Saturday, I can tell you that KJ Denhert’s music and style defies genre. I’d say jazz, folk, rock, soul, blues wrapped up in one fabulous package!
There’s a lesson here. As music fans, I believe we should all get out of our comfort zone once in a while. Go see a musician or band that you’re unfamiliar with. Be part of a music community that is different from the one that you’re accustomed to. It could be very rewarding, and maybe you’ll appreciate something new.
