July 7, 2019

Raquel & The Wildflowers is ecstatic to be opening up for internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Andy Grammer on July 10th, 2019 at Wednesday Nite Live in Stamford, Connecticut. Gates open at 6 PM, music starts at 6:30 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $20, cash only (12 and under free). Entrance gate is located on Main Street at Lower Summer Street. No entry through restaurant/bar/office back doors.

The members of Raquel & The Wildflowers will tell you they’ve been together less than a year, but audience members at their shows say they sound like they’ve been together much longer. Based out of Westchester, NY, this band has an exciting, fresh take on the country/rock scene, with hits like “Run Towards the Highway”, Raquel’s first single, which charted #32 on DRT top country airplay charts (2018) and “King of the Jungle”. “King of the Jungle” aired for the first time Feb. 22, 2019 and continued on a radio tour with live acoustic performances and interviews. Raquel & The Wildflowers released their new name this past May, (previously known as the Raquel de Souza Band) with their debut performance at Lucy’s Lounge in Pleasantville, NY.

Previously, they have opened for International country star Jessica Lynn at Daryl’s House and award-winning band Skeeter Creek at Rockin’ on the River in Troy, NY. Other notable performances include Manhattanville’s Quad Jam (headliner Lupe Fiasco), the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, the Bitter End, Rockwood Music Hall, and more.

The band is made up of six members who, like a group of wildflowers, all have their roots in different places and styles, and all come together to create something truly unique and special. Raquel de Souza, singer-songwriter, is the founder of the band and rocks as the frontman on lead vocals. Luis Cruz is the guitarist from Queens who brings the house down with his shredding solos . Matthew Bauer is the powerhouse drummer who keeps up the beat and the energy. Holding it down on electric bass, Michelle Nadler will have you dancing all night long with her savvy melodies and smooth tone. Cat Lines, originally from Texas, is the fiery acoustic/electric fiddle player, who also covers backup vocals. Finally, Dana Mancuso is the multi-talented instrumentalist who you can find at the piano or with an acoustic guitar or tambourine, filling in vocal harmonies all the way.

Alongside this and several more exciting summer performances, they will be releasing a new song this July entitled “Hot July (Summer Love)” that will be sure to keep you dancing all summer long.

This dynamic, high-energy group is just getting started, and there is so much more ahead to look forward to. For more information and to stay in touch with Raquel & The Wildflowers, visit Raquelwildflowers.com and like/follow them on Facebook & Instagram.
