Rock Hearts, New England’s premier bluegrass ensemble, is set to electrify the Westchester Bluegrass Club on March 2nd. Formed in 2013, this dynamic group has rapidly gained national recognition for their authentic sound and compelling performances. Their latest album, Unfinished Bridges, released in October 2024, has garnered significant acclaim, with several tracks topping bluegrass charts and receiving extensive airplay.
The band’s lineup features seasoned musicians, including Billy Thibodeau, recently inducted into the Maine Country Music Hall of Fame; fiddler Austin Scelzo, a finalist for the 2024 IBMA Momentum Industry Involvement Award; lead vocalist and guitarist Alex MacLeod, a finalist in the IBMA World of Bluegrass Songwriter Showcase; bassist Rick Brodsky, who has also played with The Bluegrass Characters, a band formed in 2011 by the late Grammy-winning fiddler and Dobroist Stacy Phillips; and Joe Deetz, a renowned banjo player who has performed with The Joe Val Band and worked with music legends such as Bill Keith and Béla Fleck!
Their performances are characterized by tight harmonies, masterful instrumentation, and a deep respect for bluegrass traditions, making them a standout in the contemporary bluegrass scene.
