Pleasantville Circle of Friends Mission:
Making space in the community for creating and sharing music.
The Folk Circle is always held on the second Friday of the month at St John’s Parish Hall at 8 Sunnyside Ave Pleasantville.
We begin at 8:00 PM, but you can come a little early to tune up or catch up with friends.
There is a $5 donation requested to cover our free refreshment table.
People sit in a circle and share their songs and poetry until about 11. You may just come and listen,
The Open Mike is held on the day after the Folk Circle from September thru April.
We set up the stage and lights and sound and if you are brave, you sign up between 6:30 and 7:30 and you will be assigned a time slot for your performance. Newcomers get to choose their performance time!
Everyone gets 8 minutes (more or less) of stage time for two songs,
Expect to pay $10 at the door, performers and audience alike for the evening’s entertainment and free food.
If you have questions, call or text Jim at 914 282 2542.
Thanks to St John’s for the use of this wonderful space. Please consider making clothing donations for Midnight Run, food for the Food Pantry and don’t forget the St John’s Thrift Shop, open Mondays and Saturdays from 10-2 PM.
