Drawing from Bruce Springsteen’s blue-collar introspection and Lou Reed’s deadpan stream-of-consciousness, Pete Yorn first broke out in 2001 with acclaimed, ‘Musicforthemorningafter.’ Hailed by NPR as one the year’s finest and labeled as “sublime” by The Guardian, Yorn had introduced just the first chapter in a long and exciting career.

Pete Yorn’s first solo album in three years is a foray into breezy west coast guitar rock. It’s all very Jakob Dylan-esque, and the overall quality of the songs on “Caretakers” live up to that comparison. Watch “Calm Down” on Jimmy Kimmel Live, it’s the song that kicks off the album off on a very classic alternative rock road trip – filled with electric guitar, drums, a little bass and layered vocals making a pleasant ode to the 90s indie rock scene.
