Swing along to the 18 piece Fairfield Counts as they perform the music of such greats as Tommy Dorsey, Miles Davis and many more.

The Fairfield Counts play the ever popular music of the legendary Big Bands. Listen and dance to Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Gene Krupa, Artie Shaw, Nelson Riddle, Count Basie and the Latin music of Tito Puente and Perez Prado.

The Great American Songbook is represented in our vast library as are selections from contemporary groups such as The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies and the Brian Setzer Orchestra.

No matter what the affair, the Fairfield Counts promise to keep everyone jumping and jiving. This band appeals to all ages and musical tastes.

There Are No Reservations Or Tickets. Just Come With Your Blankets, Chairs And Picnics.

Folks, parking has become a big concern so please adhere to following:
Passengers & Coolers may be dropped off at the CVS entrance to Ballard Park. From there, please follow the directions on the signs and of the parking enforcement personnel to locate parking. Please be considerate and do not park in front of open restaurants anywhere in town unless you are also eating there.

For the many of you who live in surrounding towns and enjoy CHIRP we now have the capacity to accept online donations. Please click on link above.  Please help us provide free music in the park for all who wish to come and enjoy and remember, when it rains we are most often at either East Ridge Middle School Auditorium or The Ridgefield Playhouse. Both are find indoor venues, so don’t let bad weather keep you home.

CHIRP Concerts are Tuesdays and Thursdays from Memorial Day through Labor Day . This year we begin May 28, with the Ridgefield High School Orchestra in a special opening concert. Concerts continue thereafter beginning June 4 on both Tues. and Thurs. evenings.

CHIRP is a series of free Tuesday and Thursday night summer concerts in Ballard Park located in the heart of Ridgefield. CHIRP is totally funded by individual and foundation donations as well as contributions from local businesses. It is co-sponsored by the town of Ridgefield through its Parks & Rec. Dep’t. and The Ridgefield Press. Concerts begin at 7p.m. Please understand that we love dogs BUT they are not permitted in Ballard Park.

CHIRP’s mission is to present to its audience music and professional musicians who would not normally otherwise have a venue in the Ridgefield/Danbury area. It’s main goals are to build community through shared experience as well as to enhance Ridgefield’s reputation as a “Destination”
